Solar Panels installed at a site in Woodstock Cape Town

In the foothills of the beautiful Devils Peak, 9 x 475W solar panels are soaking up the sun. Solar Panels almost magically turn light into electricity, which is used to power this home in Woodstock Cape Town.

The available roof space is West facing. This is not the most effective orientation, therefore reducing the effectiveness of the panels. Clean Earth Energy include all environmental factors in the design process to determine the correct number of panels.

This home remained connected to the utility electricity supply. The system design therefore allowed for the grid to supplement the solar power on cloudy winter days.

The home owner decided to use the Livoltek All In One system. This Hybrid Inverter and Battery combination is attractive and silent, making it ideal to install inside the homes’ living spaces. The elegant design of the system fits in with the aesthetic of the home.

The inverter is installed in a location that makes it it is easy to fit additonal batteries. The Livoltek All In One can have up to 5 x 5kWh installed.

The city of Cape Town is very progressive and is putting in place the system to enable home owners to sell electricity back to the grid.

The home owner is excited about this possibility, and Clean Earth Energy considered this in the design. The Livoltek All In One has the capability to accept additional solar panels and to manage the return of electricity to the grid. Once this in place the payback on the implementation of this residential solar system becomes very quick.
